The Library has many computer workstations located throughout the first floor. All computers are in the Collaboration Zone.

All computers can be used to find items in the Library's physical and online collections.

Each workstation is connected to the CapU student network, is print-ready and can be accessed using your CapU credentials. Community members can ask for access at the Library Services desk.

Username: Your first and last name, no spaces, all small letters (for example, janesmith, nasirmohammad)

Password: Your CapU student password, used to log in to all online student services. This was originally set to your birthdate (MMDDYY).

Working with Documents

Please do not save items to the desktop or My Documents except for immediate printing.

Remember to email important documents to yourself to ensure you do not lose work. Never open a document directly from email for editing - always save to your H: drive folder FIRST, then edit, save and email for safekeeping.

Laptop Use

The Library provides ample space for laptop use, including:

  • comfortable seating with tablets (1st floor)
  • outlet-ready silent-study carrels (2nd floor)

Wireless Access

Capilano offers free wireless internet access to all active students and employees in the Library and throughout most areas on campus. To gain access to the wireless network you will have to log in as described above. See the Wireless Access page for more detailed instructions.

Note: Printing from laptops/wireless is available via CapU Wireless network for PDF documents only. For more information, visit Printing in the Library or the IT Services' page on printing

Charging Stations

The Library provides two charging stations for your hand-held devices. Ask us at the Library Services desk if you'd like help finding them.

The CSU also provides secure device-charging stations in their lounge.
